First off, there is nothing in SwirlX that can scratch or haze your paint, but.....

...if this is indeed the case with your paint, and we suspect it may be, then even microfiber when applied aggressively can haze the paint. You mentioned working the SwirlX until it's almost gone, which could further be causing the microfiber to be worked to vigorously against the paint.

Our foam applicator pads, as others have already mentioned, are the best applicator to use in this situation. Mark Kleis made an excellent point about easing up on the pressure as you finish working on a given area. Sometimes a lighter approach does a better job because you're ensuring that only the product is working to remove the defects, and that your applicator isn't fighting you.

Thank you for the responses guys.

I think i've been pressing harder and harder with my application pad and also microfiber to try to get these swirls removed, when perhaps I should do a lighter approach. I'm probably inducing microfiber induced swirls.

I'm almost afraid to go back with a softer pad. I will try this sometime this week. I just don't wanna make things worse...

I'd go with the suggestions others made about using a foam pad instead.

Detailers clean places nobody see. Detailer see's things nobody else see. But if you ask a Detailer to see how a dress looks on a woman, they are blind.

After reading your thread, I am now concerned about SwirlX. Is there a certain way and/or certain pressure to apply this product?

I have been using DC1 for 5 years without any ill effects. I did not have to worry about the right or wrong way to apply DC1. I just did it and it turned out great everytime. In fact, my car is almost 6 years old and a few weeks ago, someone just commented this: "I did not know that you bought a new car..."

The only thing I know is both DC1 and DC2 are "apply the product and wipe off" kind of products while for wax, I have to wait until it dry before wiping them off.

DC1 is supposed to be replaced by SwirlX.

Don't be concerned about SwirlX. If you've been getting good results with Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner you should get better results with the same effort using SwirlX. Whatever you're doing, however you're doing it, you're obviously doing it correctly. Continue with the same process and you'll be fine.

That is 100% correct, and SwirlX would be used exactly the same way you used DC1. Same applicator, same pressure, same working time (although SwirlX may let you work a bit longer) and same wipe off before it dries.
