Re: has anyone used the flex orbital da

Supposedly, it is the most powerful DA that is widely available to auto care personnels. When I sold my Porter Cable 7424, I regret not getting the Flex as I thought the Porter Cable 7424XP would be enough of an upgrade.

The Flex is not the same as any of the Meguiar's DA. For one, it is much more powerful, resulting in less time spent on a given area if you properly utilize its high speed settings.

Other than being faster, it is hard to say if the Flex is any better than the G110 or G100. People say it has better ergonomics and design. It is also much more pleasing to look at compared to the dull-looking Meguiar's DA. One of the things that the Flex appeals to me, other than its speed, is the status of utilizing it. Owning a Flex makes you feel more special, or so I am led to believe by other detailers on the world wide web. When your neighbours see you using a Flex, they would think of you more highly and possibly more majestic. The Flex is probably the Ferrari F430 of dual action polishers. The brilliant red handle is no coincidence.

If you have an extra $100 to spend on a polisher, go for the Flex. You will not be disappointed. If the extra speed doesn't justify its cost, its prestigiousness will.

I have a G110 and a FLEX 3401, and I live about 10 minutes from you. If you want to come test them out send me a PM and we can arrange a meeting.

I will have a car to detail starting Saturday that you could test it on (under my supervision of course).

Very nice of you, Mark. Take him up on it. The Flex is a whole different animal when it comes to DAs.

I have both the 110 and the Flex. I can't see the point of the 110. The Flex does everything the 110 does and it always *keeps rotating*. The 110 stalls rotationally all the time and just oscillates in it's orbit. I have the Mike Phillips DVD video about how to use a DA and he is using a Meguiars unit and it is stalled half the time. You do, however, have to get used to the Flex because the rotational torque will pull it out of your hands if you're not prepared for it. It also feels a bit heavier and more awkward than the 110, to me. I never use the 110, but keep it as a backup.

I think Meguiars should sell a rebadged Flex
