  • Quik Detailer on top of NXT 2.0

I was wondering, after claying and applying NXT 2.0, would using Quik Detailer instead of UQD be doing anything to negate the Hydrophobic characteristics of the NXT 2.0? I've got a few bottles of Quik Detailer and was wondering if I'd have to relegate them to just claying if I was sealing with NXT 2.0.

No it won't affect NXT's performance of the hydrophobic technology, but it also won't add any like UQD does. UQD and UQW will "boost" the sheeting/beading, where as QD is mainly for Clay Lube and light dusting/cleaning.

I assume you dont mean applying QD right after you put the wax on, that is not the best idea with any product.

As far as removing bird droppings, etc, I have used QD, and dont seem to notice a 'dead patch' afterwards.

No, definitely not. Between waxings I'd like to be able to use it as I did when I was using Gold Class wax, car isn't quite dirty enough to need a washing but doesn't look like it did after just waxing. I just didn't want to use it if there was some kind of conflict with the Hydrophobic technology. I figured that UQD & UQW would be fine with NXT2.0 but wasn't sure about just plain Quik Detailer.

I don't see why it would, conventional QD doesn't leave any surface residue that would disrupt NXT's hydrophobic qualities and is designed to clean paint surfaces without compromising their wax coating.

Edit: if you do notice any problems why not just follow it up with some UQW?

You might want to look at #135. It is like UQD, and a bit cheaper if you were to be using a lot.
