  • Light Interior

My friend is considering buying a new car (Mercedes E-Coupe) and he has questions on the leather interior.

The 2-tone interior with Black and Beige (kind of yellow) is gorgeous but he is concerned about its practicality. For instance, let’s say on a rainy day and if he wears a new pair of jeans, would the blue dye be transferred to the beige seat? If so, is this permanent damage?

I know he will baby this car and takes good care of it but there are some contaminants that you just cannot get rid of.

Any comments? Would you buy a car with light interior?

    Re: Light Interior

Well, me personally, I prefer a lighter interior. A darker interior just seems to show more. I'd suggest keeping a bottle of Quik Interior Detailer and a dedicated microfiber in the car just in case he gets a spot on the leather.

    From autogeek.com:

Meguiar’s Quik Interior Detailer is perfect for last minute touch-ups. Say your coworkers elect you to drive everyone to lunch, or you need to pick up a client on short notice. Use Quik Interior Detailer to spruce up your vehicle in just minutes so your passengers don’t get left in the dust, literally. This cleaner wipes dust, dirt, smudges, and fingerprints off of all interior plastics, metal, rubber, leather, vinyl, and your stereo without leaving a greasy film. Just spray and wipe to clean and maintain all these surfaces. Of course, good looks can’t make up for bad odors, so Quik Interior Detailer also leaves your vehicle smelling fresh.

Quik Interior Detailer doesn’t leave any type of residue on your interior surfaces, so you can use it on your leather or vinyl seats without leaving a greasy mark on your next passenger. It revitalizes the color and texture of your interior so it looks like you clean it regularly, even if you don’t. The high lubricity formula is safe to use on clear plastic panels on your dash without scratching them.

Unlike interior products that are only for vinyl, or only for clear plastic, Quick Interior Detailer does it all.

Keep Meguiar’s Quik Interior Detailer in your vehicle along with a clean towel or Mini Dash Duster. A quick run over the surface areas will make your interior look, feel, and smell clean.

      Re: Light Interior

Everytime i look at used cars with light colored leather interiors,I never really see any staining, just a lot of dirt.
I think regular maintenance and the above mentioned, kept in the car should be fine.

It certainley wouldn't discourage me from a purchase!

my gf's explorer had a stain on the tan leather that looks like a permanent marker or something like that. it was there when she bought it brand new back in 06, they gave her a pretty good deal because of it (i would assume they first tried to clean it lol). well last week i took some gold class leather cleaner/conditioner to it and after a few tries the dang stain is gone! so, that being said i wouldnt be worried about any wet jeans causing permanent damage
