But if you are going to properly prep the suface, then it is clay and a paint cleaner.
If you are just going to use Dawn or IPA on the whole car, then you really may as well just give the car a good wash and put your new coats of wax on it. Doing one of those 2 things isnt really going to completly prep the surface anyway.
If what you truly want to do is strip the wax then alcohol wipe-down or Dawn wash is your best bet. Be sure to wash with a proper wash soap after either to properly rebalance the PH for the wax (IMO its better if you do that).
While Safe-D-Greaser is formulated to be reduce the potential for staining exterior surfaces such as painted panels, a good safety precaution is to either wet these areas down with soapy water and keep them wet while using this product or tape-off these areas with plastic.
