And asked for advice from people....

And I think my head is starting to spin. But it's okay because shockingly I kind of like it.

I spent Saturday with my new G110 and a list of advice.

This is what I did to my 2006 Grand Prix GXP

Washed the car, clay bar, washed again. Pretty routine. I had never used a clar bar before and after using it I feel like I was living in a cave.

Then comes out the G110. I went to Autozone and bought some products to use. I ended up doing the following.

Swirl X on a White (White 6.5 inch Polishing Foam Pad- High absorption foam formula for the application of waxes, micro-fine polishes and sealants. This pad has very light cutting power so its perfect for pre-wax cleaners.) Lake Country Foam Pad at speed 6. I also used some Scratch X on a few choice spots.

I think it did a great job but in the right light I can still see the light scratches. I am thinking I need to move up a pad to the Orange (Orange 6.5 inch Light Cutting Foam Pad- Firm, high density foam for scratch and defect removal. Use this pad with polishes and swirl removers. It’s an all around pad that will work on most light to moderate imperfections.) to get it out. Now I also have read that maybe I need to switch to #83 which I have considered, but read that Swirl X is the strongest swirl remover without going to a cutting like compound.

After getting that stage worked out I have some #7 which I can put on with either the white pad mentioned above or the Gray (Gray 6.5 inch Finishing Foam Pad - Composition is firm enough to withstand added pressure during final finishing to remove buffer swirls. It has no cut and will apply thin, even coats of waxes, sealants, and glazes.) I did a test spot with this and it goes on nice at speed 3 but taking it off is a PITA! It literally clings to the paint and my arms were already tired so I didn't want to hand buff this off the car for the next hourish. And to be honest I didn't see much of a difference in gloss after application. I was planning to finish off with #26.

I know technique is everything, I spent about 2 hours putting the swirl x on the car so I think I went slow enough. Just looking for more input, products to use, and etc... I was planning on getting farther Saturday but realized it takes a lot longer than I anticipated. No worries though, I can spread the enjoyment out now!

    Thanks everyone!
