Hi! I just bought a new 2009 Chrysler 300 black. I have never been that into cars before till I got this car. I just got the paint diamond gloss paint protection at Ziebart to get water spots out of car and keep new ones from happening. I saw on Mothers website the steps to do before you wax your car like wash, clay, etc. I was wondering what steps and products do you use on your cars. I don't drive this car much and it stays under a car cover and in a garage but when I take it out I want it to look like a show car. Would really like to hear what you all do to your cars and steps and products you use. Thanks for your help.

Re: New to the car detailing
Welcome to MOL! I see you also live in Indiana.
Alot of members have their own method but mine consists of this.
Most of the time I wash my car with the two bucket method, maybe occasionally using M205 polish on certain spots where light scratches and swirls may appear and then top it off with NXT 2.0. Dress the tires with Megs endurance gel and Hyper dressing or All season dressing on the trim. And of course cleaning the windows with Megs Glass Cleaner.
I try to do this once a week or so depending if I have a free day or have some time to kill.

Re: New to the car detailing
Do you use clay bars? What about scratch x, it says it works great with the clay bar? Also like I said my car is black so I was wondering if anybody uses deep crystal polish since it is supposed to be made for dark cars. Trying to see if it is worth the money.

Re: New to the car detailing
For a nice quick detail, if there are no imperfections to fix, I like:
1. Wash - 2 buckets, Grit Guards, quality sponges, towels ,etc.
2. Clay if needed
3. ColorX
4. Wax - Nxt 2.0
Or a full detail could look like:
1. Wash
2. Clay if needed
3. Clean - SwirlX is teh general cleaner. You may use ScratchX or Ultimate Compound if there are worse defects to fix.
4. Polish - DC Polish is a nice, easy to use polish.
5. Wax - Nxt 2.0 is good.
6. Wax - 2 thin coats is best.2017 Subaru WRX Premium - WR Blue
