  • Would you recommend using #21 after 3 months?

I did the following process on my car in April and it came out fantastic!
    1. Wash and clay
    2. #105
    3. #205
    4. #21 Synthetic sealant
    5. #26 Yellow wax
    6. UQD as needed

The car is kept in a garage on inclimate days. I have applied #26 a couple times since the initial process. I will have the car in a show in a coule of weeks and I wanted to apply #205 again to get some of the fine marks, etc. out. Should I reapply #21 after #105 or can it wait until I do the fall full detail?

    Thanks

Jim, you definitely want to apply a fresh coat of M21 after using M205 and/or M105. Either of those products will effectively remove any wax you currently have on the surface.

Thanks Michael. What do you think of the full process I mentioned? I have a black 2007 Corvette Z06 and what I did worked very well. Woudl you recommend anything else or modify the process any?

The process you outlined looks awesome, but for a black car going into a show you may want to try adding a pure polish before putting down the M21. Something like M07 Show Car Glaze, even on a base coat/clear coat finish, will add gloss and depth. You may not want to do this all the time just because it's an extra step, but prior to a show a lot of guys will pull out all the stops and shoot for the very best they can achieve.

Don't forget, though, that M07 is one of those products that you do NOT let dry. Just work it gently against the paint in small areas and wipe off while still wet. Put a thin coat of M21 on over it and basically you're done. You seem to like the M26 over the M21 so by all means finish off that way if you like.

Thanks again Michael. I thought the M26 added some protection against the elements. Is that not the case? That is the main reason I use it. I also think it adds some brilliance to the finish but that is very debatable.
