  • Xenon handlamps

I've been doing a bit of looking around and can't find these Xenon handlamps.(I think they're called brinkman). Can someone here give me technical data for one of these?

I know they're easy enough to find over in the states, but I even checked a good electrical outlet and no luck.

If I have a full tech data on this,I can explain it to a shopkeeper and he might be able to locate it for me.

I'm sure there has to be a European company making something similar?

What are flashlight companies over there?

The only realy data is that it is 2 Xenon bulbs spaced about 3 inches apart that light at the same time.

BTW, Brinkman does ship International... no idea the cost.

Although the brinkman is the tool of choice here in North America (due largely because they are extremely easy to find in places like Costco or Sporting Stores), there are many substitutes or alternatives to the Brinkman lights.

Keep in mind that the Brinkman flashlight is simply a rechargeable flashlight that utilizes a xenon light bulb that emits a 4300k or similar lumen light beams. I am sure products like this should not be too hard to find in Europe.

One very popular online store, http://lwww.dealextreme.com, sells a large variety of Xenon flashlights. This company ships worldwide FREE of charge.

This particular item may be of interest to you: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.12272

If not, this online store also carries and stocks a large variety of other xenon flashlights.

      Goodluck

              Re: Xenon handlamps

I have tried looking for a xenon handlamp down where I live, but is always afraid the product is never as good as a brinkmann..

so what do i have to look for when finding a xenon handlamp?
              -definately rechargeable
-how bright should it be? (many "kelvins")
              -?
              -?

              thx

I didn't find anything like what you are using out there, but I picked up an Energizer Xenon handlamp/torch called double barrel. I've tried it and it shows scratches. If it's as good or not,i don't know?

Did you just find the Energizer now, or had it a while?

Maybe you could tape two of them together....

just seen it today.Must be new stock.never seen it before.

Taping 2 together would be good, but at about 40+$'s a hit!

That's the way things go over here.

                        That not a "headlamp"
                        That's a "spotlight"
And the point to getting one of these is so you can see the imperfections in the paint.
So any very bright light will work, it's just that Xenon Gas gives off a very bright light.

Thanks for showing Mario.I didn't even think about 3M,but makes sense.Yes it is basically a torch, xenon, but no spec as to color temp or output.I've tested it and it does show up swirls etc. but I don't think it's as good as what you get out there. We're just so behind here.

The link above is the one I have. I love it it, there are a few downsides the batteries are an odd ball type that your not going to find in a typical store. Inorder to get to the different brightnesses you have to click through 5 other modes. I bought the rechargeables along with the charger and it all came to $60 US shipped and got it in about a week. I use it all the time to check finishes and at home for other odds and ends.
