  • New Truck Detail

A couple weeks ago I didn't know much about detailing a vehicle. I'm still obviously no expert, but I have learned a few things by joining this forum and reading the wealth of information that is available. There are a lot of things (especially the prep) that most folks either don't understand or take for granted to get the best possible look to your vehicle's paint surface. Here are some pics of my new ride after I detailed the exterior.

Let me just start by saying that even the hand wash I took for granted until I viewed the video on this site (2 bucket method). Then came the quick detail using QD and then the Megs smooth bar clay kit which I had no clue on prior to joining this site. Following the instructions (again from viewing the clay video) I was amazed at the results. Finally 2 coats of #21 synthetic sealant and the color on the truck has come ALIVE !!!.

Thanks to this site I have a new fond knowledge of taking care of a vehicles paint. Great site.

Beautiful Truck, Looks great and I love it!

I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.

        I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.
        Remove swirls my friends.

          Wonderful job!

I'd like to echo your appreciation for all the great stuff I've learned on this forum.

Luckily I saw the two bucket video and the grit guard before I trashed my nearly perfect paint job.

Thanks to all the Meguiar's corporate folks, mods, and everyone that make all this possible.

I used Megs Endurance tire gel (purple stuff). I like this as you can achieve what ever gloss level you wish by adding multiple coats or wiping off excess to achieve a more satin or matte finish.
