  • First True Detailing Package Purchase!

I own a 2008 Honda Civic Si in Rallye Red.

I use Meguairs NXT wax on a regular basis by hand. Results are always great however there are those minor swirl marks in the paint under certain light. I am planning on purchasing a Meguairs DA and some Polish and wax, here is what I have in mind.

    G110 or the new 220
    Soft Buff 2.0 Polishing Pads
    Soft Buff 2.0 Finishing Pads
    M80
    More NXT 2.0 Wax
    Meguiars Micro Fiber Towels

Does this sound like a good package to start with?

There is a good guide in another part of this forum on removing swirls with the DA and some M80 or M83 for more severe swirls and the results look great.

Let me know what ya think!

    1. The old machine is the G100/ PC 7424. The new is the G110. (G220 is for Europe.)

    2. Good, you could also pick up 1 cutting pad if you wanted to use bonnets to remove wax.

    3. #80 / #205

I would look into #105 for more severe swirls.

The swirls really are very light and I can only notice them under parking lot lights or with a bright halogen light in my garage. I also heard the Civic paint was soft and that M09 might be an option so over all what would be my best option for polishing?

        #9 is very very mild....

        I'd go #80 / #205.

Sounds good. I would also vote for the 80, and the 205. Good luck.

SwirlX, M80, M205 and UC are good to have on hand.

There's a great one, right here... How to use the G-100 to remove swirls It's for the G100 but the same would hold true for the new G110.
