  • Meg's Trim Detailer on pedals?

    Hey everybody,

After giving all the pedals on my '07 civic (dead pedal, clutch, brake, gas) a good cleaning using APC+ a few small, stiff-bristled brushes, I noticed afterwards that while the top 2/3 or so of my gas pedal (think where the ball of one's foot rests when driving) is nice and clean like the other pedals, it's not a nice dark, black colour like the bottom part (i.e. where one's foot doesn't generally touch).

Has anybody used Meg's Trim Detailer (or Mother's Back To Black or Meg's #40) on one's pedals?

I'm well aware not to use any product that leaves any sort of 'slick' residue on things like pedals or the steering wheel (for safety's sake, obviously), but I wondered if one can use trim detailer or similar product on the pedals to return them to their original, black colour?

I suppose you could if you really want to however I would not suggest it.

I dont want anything slick on my feet while driving at all. So Im fine after APC and some scrubbing.

M40 is the only one of those three I have ever used on pedals as it dries to a non-slip surface and produces a matte finish.

I would just clean the rubbers with soapy solution.I removed mine years ago and put metal pedals with rubber pads.I just wipe them from time to time.

I use Natural shine on my pedals and steering wheel without any problems

I would just clean it really nice and leave it like that. Don't want any accident to happen.
I usually use APC and that's about it.

I'd vote for M40 as well. The Trim Detailer would leave to much of a slick film on the pedal to be safe.

In the past I have always been hesitant to use any protectorant on the pedals. I will have to give #40 a try.

Usually when I am scrubbing out the drivers side carpet I'll spray the Detailer Line Carpet Cleaner on the pedals and agitate with a brush.

they come out clean and it works.

I've used Quik Interior Detailer on the pedals a couple of times, provided they weren't too dirty. Cleans and leaves a slight gloss without making it slick in any way.
