    Re: first time waxing car

If you use SwirlX it acts as a paint cleaner by abarading things away from the surface (and slightly into) the paint. You can follow SwirlX is a normal wax or sealant like NXT 2.0.

If you have the desire and the time, going over the car with something like ColorX (available at most consumer stores), or the M66 Speed Detailer cleaner wax will only help to further clean the surface and lightly polish it. Then you could top that with NXT 2.0 or M26 wax.

There is a lot of room for preference, so you have to try things out and see what you like and what works best for your vehicle and situation.

Are you referring to the old Scratch X or Scratch X 2.0?

The old Scratch X is less aggressive than Swirl X. It is probably most comparable to Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner, so chances are it won't do much for swirls and scratches. Scratch X 2.0 is more aggressive than Swirl X, but it is more of a spot treatment type product. Plus, it is more expensive, as you're getting less product for about the same amount of money. If you can't get Swirl X, try getting some Ultimate Compound. That would probably be your best bet.
