I will try it by hand first then. Do you by chance know how aggressive the white polishing pad that comes with the PC 7424 is? My new pads are all on order and won't be here for a bit.

All I know is that it is a polishing pad.

Super Black on Nissan's website appears to be metallic.
A quick google search turns up alot of "Super Black Metallic" results I'd recommend NOT trying to remove the metal flake

Actually, I would try it by hand with a foam applicator. If that really doesn't do it hit it with a polishing pad. Again, least aggressive to most.

Perfect, I have both of those and will try to use them as soon as I can. What kind of pad do you suggest? A more aggressive cutting pad or just a lighter polishing pad?

Are you sure it's rail dust and not just metal flakes in the paint?

I am worried that it is metal flakes in the paint that is not suppose to be there being the colour is Super Black and not a Metalic Black.

I would say wait before you try aggressive clay. First try a body solvent. Be sure to re-wax any area you use the solvent. If that does not work try a cleaner wax or a polish. Then try aggressive clay. If that does not work try a less aggressive abrasive like SwirlX or ScratchX. Move up to Ultimate Compound or M105 if necessary. Always try the least aggressive method first.

As they are not raised imperfections a more aggressive clay bar probably would afford little help, but I would count more on less aggressive abrasives.

Pretty much all the painted surfaces with the exception of the lower portions of the door panels. That is what originally led me to believe it was rail dust. Might it be overspray or maybe dust in the paint booth?

A trip to Radio Shack and p/u a $ 8.00 lighted micro scope might give you a better look at what is going on.

My car is a 2009 Nissan Maxima SV Super Black. So I just finished claying my car in an attempt to get off what I thought was rail dust. My cars paint was baby bottom smooth. I pulled it out into the sun just to make sure I got everything and I find out the speckles are still their. They appear to be tiny little metalic flakes of something that seem to be under the clear coat as they are not present to the touch. Any advice on how to remove these little buggers? More aggressive clay? I was using the Smooth Surface Clay Kit. Is this a defect that can be removed by UC or some other paint cleaner? Thanks in advance for your help.
