Used the clay...the paint is really smooth now. followed up with Color-X and it worked with some success. Is it ok to repeat with Color-X before waxing? I'm still finding that unless I put it on thick it leaves lines or swirls on the paint. Any recommendations?

ColorX IS a wax, it just happens to be a cleaner wax that contains mild abrasives to remove oxidation, contamination, and light swirls or scratches.

You should try a stronger product like SwirlX, or ScratchX 2.0 to get the remaining swirls.
