Hi Folks,
What a nightmare I had recently. I know most of you aren't as dumb as I am but I thought I'd post this anyway to help out other folks who may not believe what they hear/read or don't pay attention well enough:
I washed, clayed, paint cleaned, polished and waxed a couple of weeks ago. The next day we were having some friends over to shoot some hoops and visit. I wanted the car to look AWESOME in the drive as they came in, so the next day around mid day I went out to quick detail it to its very shiniest.
Well, this was actually at my in-law's house in Georgia and I hadn't noticed that overnight the tea olive tree (that the car was parked under) had dripped tiny tiny little specs of sap ALL over my car! I sprayed with UQD and started wiping. What a smeary, nasty mess that was! So please when they say that UQD is not for actually cleaning your car, THEY'RE RIGHT! It's only for dust and making shiny. It was a nightmare! I'm lucky it didn't damage the paint with smearing all that sap around. So dumb me thinks it'll still work if I just put MORE UQD on. Well of course it didn't. And then because it was mid day in June in Georgia, the stuff was drying out faster than I could get it off. So when they say don't use it in the heat of the day, take that seriously. I had a sappy, streaky, drying mess all over the place.
I'm not trying to impugn the quality of UQD here. I'm just trying to remind folks not to be stupid with it and to follow the directions and pay attention to what's on the car when you use it. I love UQD and all Meguiar's products.
In the end, I had to just wash the whole car again. The sad part is that the darn folks coming over didn't even ogle over the car and how great it looked. But I was happy. Always happy when the car looks good. Even if no one but me appreciates it.
Hubby thinks I'm out of my mind.
