  • Need help with selecting a few more Meg Products!

    Hey everyone,

Before I started detailing on my own I was a BMW detailer and we used a random assortment of terrible products. Ha. But now working on my own I'm planning on using many Megs products.

The Meg equipment/supplies I currently have are:
    G110
#105 Ultra Cut Comp (DA version)
    #80 Speed glaze
    #84 power cleaner (Use with a rotary..Dewalt)
    White clay
    Gold Class Wash
    Super Degreaser
    #7 Show car glaze
    #26 Hitech yellow wax
    #40 Vinyl and Rubber

I have a variety of pads - Meg yellow polshing pad, and finishing pad. Also have some more aggressive LCC cutting pads.

Here's my problem though, I feel like I have a bit of a gap between #105 and #80. Most of the cars I do have some swirling, but nothing too extreme.

What would you suggest for products to add to my collection?

Thanks for the help everyone, glad to finally be on the forum

I would get some M205, M82 Swirl Free Polish, SwirlX, Ultimate Compound and maybe even ScratchX 2.0. Maybe get a few more polishing pads as well. Also would be good to pick up a gallon of Last Touch as a clay lube.

I think Tuck pretty much summed it up...

If you already have #105 (the new version), I am not sure you would need the Ultimate Compound. #205 would be a good addition though.

You could of course use some APC, glass cleaner, some kind of QD lubricant...

Yea, the difference between 105 and Ult Compound isn't much is it? 105 is just slightly more abrasive correct?

Yea, need a gallon of the QD or Final inspection stuff for sure. Was using a simple green solution for APC (for interiors), but probably change over the APC.

Thanks for the help everyone. Glad to finally be posting. have been reading the forums for a long time, but never really introduced myself

M205 utilizes SMAT Technolgy and M80 uses DAT. Beyond that, M205 is a little more aggressive and has more cut but M80 is known for its Trade secret polishing oils that work awesome on single stage paint.

Both are great products that can serve different purposes.

I think M105 is moderatly more aggressive than Ultimate Compound, both use SMA technology.

As for the detailing spray, purchase a gallon of Last Touch. Works so well as a clay lube at 1:1 and as a detailing spray in general

Either Meguiars APC or APC+ will work fine, I have APC and it has handled every task I have thrown at it.
