  • New to buffing

Hi all. I am an old school, faithful hand waxer for over 16 years. I usually apply 2-3 coats of wax to each of my two vehicles each year by hand. I want to get into using a hand buffer but I am a little scared. I used one once many years ago and it was not a pretty finish. This is why I have not gotten back to one since. I am looking for advice and also know-hows that you all use or have tried that have worked. Both of my vehicles are parked outside all the time since I have no garage. I have been using the NXT system since its inception and it has worked great for me. I would like to step it up a little though and get a more deeper, richer shine from my vehicles. Also I have chrome wheels on one and I cannot find a good product to "melt" the brake dust from them. I have tried the Hot Rims Chrome wheen cleaner and it works OK but not great. I still have to scrub really hard with a sponge to lift the hard on brake dust. They are usually cleaned every month so the buildup is not too bad. I guess that I am really tired of spending an entire weekend to really clean two vehicles and I am not even all that proud with the results. I know I can do better.

Are you only doing a wash & wax? If so, step it up to the 5 step process. You will have much better results.

As far as the wheels go.. I'm not sure. Hang around.. I'm sure someone has some great advice for you!
