Re: What product can I use ?

Ok...I will try it on an old car...but what do you think about this products M105 - M205 - M80 - Tech Wax 2.0...and soft buffs 2.0 ? I will start with M105, try with the polishing pad , if it isn't very good i will use the cutting pad, so i will use M205 with polishing pad and M80 with Finishing pad...is it the correct way ? But before i use it i will try all products in a spot....but i didn't understad how you do...you apply this products by hand on the hood ? or you use on the first square the least agressive product with the least agressive pad and after you use a least agressive product with a middle pad ? when you apply M105 and M205 you must make some pressure on the machine and after you use little pressure ? the vidfeo that i saw on youtube is Training Video - who posted is MeguiarsUSA the link is youtube.com/watch?v=iPdShfeakzw ... there they use M85,M84,M83,M82, but i think that M205 and M105 will work better then that right ?

    Thank you people !!

Good, practice lots on old cars and hoods before attempting on this car!!! I cant stress that enough!

Since it is rotary you will apply different. you will lay a small line of product on the area you are going to work and place the rotart to the right of the bead with the bead at a 10 o'clock position to the pad. Then you are going to pull the trigger lighty and lift of the side of the pad next to the bead and go across it putting the pad flat at the end. This is how you pick up the product.

You will then want to work the product into the paint and check your results. Yes start least aggressive, like with most likely M105 on polishing pad. After working the product in once if you dont like the results apply it again with the same combo. If you are still not removing much than step up to the cutting pad. M205 will only require the polishing pad or finishing pad depending on if anything is left or how severe the remaining swirls are. M80 is similar to 205 but 205 is newer and more advanced and will probably work better for you.

When working the machine apply around 15 or so pounds of pressure. With the rotary you will want to keep the pad flat and and keep moving. If you lift the edges it will run away from you and if you dont keep moving it will generate lots of heat and burn through your paint. On edges you will want to lift the machine so that the pad is hitting it around the right side and not the left. There is lots to learn about using rotary before I would attempt working on a car for the first time. This is why I really think it would be best for you to get yourself a DA even with a rotary you will still need the DA for some jobs!

With tech wax apply with your hands and a foam pad, not rotary.

Good video.Couldn't stop watching it.Had to watch it all the way through.

Yes,okay. We know now that you'll be using a rotary.

John will help you out here, but I agree you have to practice on old hoods to gain some experience.Even if you are quite artistic, you'll still need to develop the skill. If you're good you'll learn quicker.

It's good to see you're taking an interest in this.Just don't bash out on your car!

              Good Luck!

Re: What product can I use ?

Idk man Im just not liking him using the rotary. Ive barely used one. I know how and the right technique but I dont have the time to practice. Also, the only reason I know what im doing is from help with Nick Chapman. He set me in the right direction, the rotary can just take a while to get using the right way. Easy to burn paint and create holograms. I really wish he would either sell this rotary or save for a DA because it is so much better for starting out. Even though it can be pricy it has so many uses!

Re: What product can I use ?

Hi...I don't buy a DA because i don't have much money hahaha...it costs here R$ 800,00 and this rotary is R$ 200,00...i think that i will do the correct, because i'm watching a lot of trainign videos from meguiars, and i'm "perfeccionist" ( i don't know if you use this word ^^ ) so you think that i must use M105, M205 and the wax, without the M80 ? so M105 is like M85,M84, M83 and M205 is like M82 and M80 ? Here at home i have four microfiber towel ( X 2010 ) do you think that i need to buy M9910 ulktimate cloth or soft buff terry clothes ?

thanks for your help people !!

Mauricio,I kicked in to see how things were getting on.

If you noticed at the begining of the video,it stated clearly 'For Professionals'.It doesn't mean you can't do it,but it means it's not as easy as pie.Watching pros, like those guys and replicating in a first attempt is a foolhardy approach. They just make it look so easy because that's their job and they do it every day.I've tried it for fun on old bits of scrap and it takes a lot of patience.

It's good you've taken this interest.Get the products as listed above, but go and practice on old hoods from junkers.

Are you sure you can't get a DA cheaper.Sounds a bit crazy. Have you shopped around? What about the G110?

Re: What product can I use ?

Yes M105 and M205 is basically the new version of those things but the more you have the more you can choose from. I thought that after watching videos and also being a crazy perfectionist also thought that I would pick it up easy. I didnt it is very hard to control. I suggest that you start another thread and ask where and how much people have gotten it around you. Im not trying to be rude and say you cant do it its just that it will be much better and easier for you in the long run to get yourself a DA

Re: What product can I use ?

I would get a few more pads, like 2 cut 4 polish, and 3 finishing. Its more money but with a car that size you will be glad you have more. 21 and NXT I think have the same formula? IM sure someone else knows better than I do, but you will be fine with NXT. Also, lots of Supreme shine micro fibers are always great to have! Not sure the name of the brush but there are a lot of different ones. You can also clean with a terry colth towel.

Im sure others will chime in their thoughts. Remember still to do lots of practice on junker hoods before moving to the car since this is a rotary.

Hi...what do you think about 2 cut - 3 polish and 2 finish ? if i buy more the customs will take me hehehe and the shipment will be so high...when i apply the M105 and M205 its better i apply on the hood and not in the pad...but when i apply on the doors, must i apply on the door or its better apply on the pad ? can i use M105 with cut pad in the whole car and use M105 with polish pad on the hood and the roof ?

                              About the clothes...i have here microfiber X2010...but i can buy X2010, M9910 and softbuff...what is better ?

                              Thank you !!
