Yeah !!this is the machine...i will recive in 10 days i think ^^...i want too know what pads i can use in this machine...i'm watching in youtube that W5000 is necessary for cutting, and 8207 and 9207 is for polishing and wax...W7207 substitutes W5000 ?
Its necessary buy Backing Plates ? its rotary or DA backing plates ?

Hi, ok i will wait who knows about polisher...i liked F1 when i was younger...i liked a lot Airton Senna...but unfortunately he dead...so how brazilian drivers aren't very good i lost the interest in F1....but sometimes i watch it on tv...

Hello People !!

Here is the pictures of my car...it is dirty, but you can see the problems in the paint...






In this photo its seems that were sanding, but not polish after sand ^^.









Now you can't see the swirls...it was because the clarity wasn't good...there are many swirls here...like the other side...
























Now I need toknow what products must i use, and if i need to sand and what pads i need .

These are much better thanks! For one you will not need to sand, with factory clear being so thin it wouldnt be safe to do and it takes lots of practice.

I have no experience with the machine you are getting (is it a rotary or DA?) but I would suggest either the Meguiars soft buff 2.0 pads. For product get what you can. It looks like this will require M105 and maybe some M205. Or you can get some Ultimate compound and try that. Remember to always try a test spot first and start with the least aggressive product. I would say that 105 should take care of that but like I said you will want to start with something less aggressive first before moving up to the 105.

Im sure some others will chime in with their tips and suggestions also but if you have questions keep them coming!

Hi Mauricio.I remember your thread from the other night.


Looking at your pics,definitely 'no sanding' required. If you have any deep scratches or stone chips that are below the clear coat,sanding won't help anyway.You'll have to do some touching up with a paint stick to repair them.

So you think that i need only two products ? M105 and M205 ? M80, 82, 83, 84, 85, M66, M95 and M09 aren't necessary ? I don't know what products M105 and M205 substitutes....so the W5000 Pad isn't necessary too ? I don't know if this machine is rotary or DA...I think that is rotary...

I'm looking at some products and i think that i have a conclusion...

M105 - M95 - M85 - M84 - Apply with SoftBuff2.0 7207 Or W5000
( I think that M105 with W7207 is the better choice )

M83 - M80 - M82 - M09 - M205 - Apply with SoftBuff 2.0 8207
( I think that M205 with W8207 is the better choice )

M26 - M21 - Tech Wax 2.0 - Apply with SoftBuff 2.0 9207
( I think that Tech Wax 2.0 with W9207 is the better choice )

So people !! now i need your help am I correct ? maybe its necessary one more step applying M21 with W8207 ?
Must i use some "strong" with the softbuffs ?( did you understand my question ? )

hi Mauricio.I can't give you advice on all of that data.But if you havn't used a buffer before,I think you should experiment on an old panel from a junkers yard first,before starting on your own vehicle.Plus it's a new machine that you havn't tried yet.

I personally wouldn't need to use that amount of products. 2 or 3 would suffice,for me.Just depends what you plan for the future aswell.

Like eddie said, if you find that the machine is a rotary I would go get a junk yard hood for practice. Honestly, if you hadnt already gotten a machine I would suggest that you just save for a Porter cable or the megs da because it will help you out more being beginner friendly. If you use that machine you probably will need a backing plate but Im not sure which never heard of it before.

essentially you will probably only need the M105 and M205 but the M80, M83, or M82 can always be helpful to have as options. The cutting pad may be necessary however do not start with it! Since you paint has some heavy swirling I would start with some M105 and a polishing pad. See where that leaves you after doing a few passes. If you have some minor swirling left try following up with some M205 and see if everything is gone. Or you may need a few applications of M105 to get desired results.

Regardless if sanding is needed in some spots do not attempt it. Since you dont have experience doing it you will more than likely end up doing more harm than good. Just stick to polishing for now.

When you get the machine start it up and see if it is a DA or rotary

Hi Mauricio,John will help you here better than me,as I don't get the Meg's pro line here.

There are loads of videos on youtube regarding polishing.Can you put the link up,and we'll tell you if it's a rotary or DA?The Tech wax 2.0 will be fine for you.But we'll worry about that later.It's not important at the moment.

As John said,M105 and M205 would be your starting point.

Yeah that seems a good list of products. Always remember the more you have the more choices you can go through to find the best results. If it turns out that it is a rotary do plenty of practice before using it. I really want to tell you to keep it for practice with rotary but get yourself a DA. There is just to many things that can go wrong when using a rotary with no experience. You may not get full correction with a DA but you can get pretty darn close.

What I would do is tape off a test spot (I can usually spit the hood into three column's or four and then make three squares of of each column. And then prime the pad with some M105, apply an X of product and work it in with your hand. Then apply some more and work it into the paint. Wipe off the polish and see your results. If you feel you are getting no where after testing maybe twice with the polishing pad at different speeds and such than you can step up to a cutting pad but usually it isnt necessary.

M205 will be used following M105 to take away minor swirls and tic marks left behind from the M105. You will not want to apply the tech wax with the rotary, it would be fine with a DA but since you dont have one unless you get one just use it by hand. Its a great product, use overlapping circular motions and cover the car allow to dry and then buff off. For better results let it cure 8 hours or overnight and apply a second coat.

By the way my process I listed is if you had a DA I really think it would be best for you to get a DA from megs, flex, or porter cable. It is something that no one can mess up unless you throw it at the paint. However, a rotary can burn through the paint and I really think that until you have plenty of practice with it or have someone that knows how to use it with you to hold off on using it on this car.
