  • Discoloration of 97 Sea Ray

I have heard great things about Meguiar's. But never tried the products. I am in need of some advice on how to restore color and discoloration to a 1997 sea ray boat I purchased a couple of months ago. The boat has very little shine to it. It is white in color. It has been stored outside. Around the top of the boat where the cover snaps in, it has discolored(or the rest of the boat has faded, don't really know). There is probably a 3 shade difference.
I was thinking of using the #49 oxidation remover, #45 polish and #63 wax. Is this what i should use? I have a Porter cable variable speed sander? should i do it by hand or with the PC? what pad would you recommend if I do it with the PC?
I have never removed oxidation before but i feel confident doing it, if I get the right stuff.
thanks guys for all your input

OK, you have the right choice in products. A polishing pad on your pc may work BUT it may not be enough. I ended up using rotary buffer and wool pad on the oxidized hull of my daughter's Laser sailboat. Like Mike says, start with the least aggressive approach and go from there. By the way, I have a Sea Ray. Cool Boat. It's a "semi-garage queen". After 14 years it still looks like new (well almost).
