  • M105/M205 vs. UC/SwirlX

I'm debating on whether or not I should pick up some M105 and M205 (samples) to give a shot on my dad's truck. The paint condition is pretty bad (just as bad if not worse than my Typhoon) and I need something to make it shine again. This will all be done by hand, what would you recommend I do?

    I already have UC/SwirlX

try your UC and SwirlX first. If the UC is not removing heavy oxidation or defects then get M105.

This is the furthest I could get with UC and SwirlX

There is still a bit more that could be pulled out too.

Since it is a lot of oxidation, then you might as well go with M105. Plus since your working by hand it will be more effective for removing dead paint over UC.

After M105 I would either use SwirlX or M205.

Little off but, I would like to polish my dads car, but I dont have enough 105/205 after my car. So I can get UC and SwirlX at my local auto store. My only question is can you finish with SwirlX and are UC/SwirlX use diminish abrasive or are they just like 105/205

Didn't want to make a whole new post about this, I will if its needed.

          Thanks

I'll try M105 sample and SwirlX since I already have it.

Would you guys recommend using some Meguiars applicators over these walmart ones or does it really matter?

I would get the yellow foam ones from Meguiars, I cant really find any good ones around here, and Microfiber ones dont have nay bite really.

Super Micro Abrasive Technology is in:

                  Ultimate Compound
                  SwirlX
                  M105
                  M205
                  D151
                  ScratchX 2.0
                  M95

But its a lot different than diminishing abrasives, with SMAT you can stop any time in the buffing cycle and therefore it does not have to be broken down.

I understand now, looks like I'm going to pick up a couple samples and a few real pads
