  • Maggie is now Ms. Maggie

I bought this car mid may and finally got around to polishing her up on 5/30. It was a LOT of work! The previous owner must not have ever washed it even once. the paint was coverd with "rust spots", tar and even had dirt so baked on it wouldnt wash off, not even with the "acid bath" there were dirt streaks all over and the tailgate and rear bumper was actually a different color than the rest of the car from all the grime.

    Process:

    WASH
    General wash with NXT soap
    tar removal
    "acid bath" with Zep's Zepalume
    clay bar-on EVERYTHING!

I taped it up and buff her using:
    Flex Rotary
    Megs Wool pad M105
Megs Soft Buff 2.0 polish pad M205

I was going to use my DA and some 205 to top it all off but i did not have to after the rotary and foam it was perfect!

Dodge paint was very easy to work with. At most I used a few passes for some of the scratches with M105 and wool pad and the scratches disappeared.

this was a pretty good sized scratch, just hard to get it to show with white paint and my camera phone.

GONE! and look and the color change!

Two weeks later and another coat of NXT 2.0

    Thanks!

The hardest part about it was being able to see where I buffed. The white M105 blended right in with the paint.

Can you put any kind of dye into megs compounds and polishes?

Don't know. You might try adding food coloring and see if that helps, but I'd only do it with a small amount to see if it works, that way you don't waste a whole bottle of product. Dodge looks great by the way!

So much better! Great job. You really made that white paint glossy.

On the white cars I use blue painters tape to mark my areas which saves me time and confusion.
