Which one would be better to use to really remove swirl marks and light scratches?

Depending on how bad your swirls/scratches are, you may need a stronger product of course.

If its between swirl remover and swirlX. Id' vote for SwirlX. It did a marvelous job removing hologram on my 1 week year old car. Installed free when I bought it.

Are you working by hand or machine?

Ultimate Compound is our most aggressive scratch and swirl remover but you can control how much paint you're removing by simply using less pressure or stop working the product.

Thanks guys for your advice. I went ahead and bought the clay kit, swirlx, and the new wax. We will see how it goes!

You can wash and clay everything.

But do a test spot/panel with SwirlX, to see if it works for you.

Dont do the entire car with SwirLX and wax and find you still have swirls.

Ok so i did a test and then I did the entire car with clay/swirlx/ and then the nxt wax...It has been a long day haha. but the car looks amazing, still SOME swirl marks but it looks alot better. Now I need to find a good tire shine stuff that wont sling everywhere like the black magic gel. I am never using that stuff again. Now i have spots on my car from the gel that I have to clean off...any thoughts on how? Could I use the Quick Detailer to clean them off?

Also, what is a very good tire shine/protectant from Meguiar's that does not sling everywhere?

                Thanks for the help guys!

Yes, you can use the QD or UQD to get the spots off. You might consider wiping the tire down with an old towel to get off any more excess.

As far as what to do in the future, there are a couple things.

                    1. Make sure you have clean tires. I always clean my tires with Meguiars All Purpose Cleaner and a soft brush.

                    2. There are a lot of tire products to pick from, I like the Insane Shine Trigger Spray at the moment. A real good shine for a couple days, but a nice rich black for a long time. I have had no sling problems, some of that is cleaning the tires, and some is just the tire itself. Some tires dont like some products.

I too like the NXT Insane Tire Shine spray in the trigger form. But you probably wont find that locally.

go to your local Wal Mart and pickup the Hot Shine Tire Gel Kit.

Also...dumb question...how often should I wax the car? also if i decide to use scratch X sometime...do i need to wax over the spots again?

                          1. As often as you want? But really, you should get a good look at it now, and after your next wash, notice how the water beads/runs off. Also, it would be good to apply either UQD or UQW after the wash. Note how easily they go on/off. As the water beads/runs off less, pools more, and the UQD/UQW don't go on as easy, spread as far, it can be a sign things are wearing off.

                          2. Yeah, ScratchX will take off the wax.

I like the answer that Accumulator gives to this question: "I wax whenever some characteristic that I value drops off below the level I consider acceptable." What wax characteristics do you value--gloss, wetness, beading, slickness? Pay attention and re-wax whenever you see significant degradation. Or put yourself on a detailing schedule, so that you never get to the point where significant protective degradation occurs.

the best way to insure there is something on the surface is to use a spray wax each time after you wash your vechile.
