  • Help with Interior Glass Spots- Stubborn!

I have these milky-white spots on the Interior side of my front windshield. The spots are the size of a pin head near the driver's side door. Sorry, I can't get clear enough pics to post.

I've tried Stoner's glass cleaner, white vinegar and finally Goof Off which contains Xylene. When I wiped the affected area, the spots disappeared, but as soon as the Goof Off dried, the spots re-appeared.

I'm at my wits end here. Any suggestions? Please keep in mind that I do not have a DA or Rotary so I'll be trying to remove these spots by hand. Thanks!

try a little ScratchX or DC1 with a foam applicator pad.

First try what Tuck has suggested to you.If the spots are still there it sounds like it's some kind of pitting. I think this is very hard to tell without pics.

You could also try claying the area affected, incase it is something that is really bonded hard to your glass.

Strong sunlight should help you get some decent pics.

It may also be "bubbles" in the plastic layer sandwiched between the interior/exterior of the windshield.

I thought about that, but I don't think so because they seem to be affected when the surface is wet, which wouldn't affect bubbles inside.

Maybe #4 with a terry cloth towel?

I don't think this would help with your issue, but when Meg's Glass cleaner, Stoner, and everything else failed to remove the recurrent streaks on my 2009's interior windshield, I tried some IPA (rubbing alcohol) straight out of the bottle and it worked. Have to use a fair amount of it, though.

I do have Scratch X 2.0, so I'll try that first. I have #4 as well, but that's at my parents house, as that is something I hardly use.

Tomorrow, I'll break out the camera again and see if I can get some clear shots. I'll take some before the ScratchX 2.0 and after if the ScratchX works. Thanks for all of your suggestions!

make sure to put a little passion behind the ScratchX and use that before you use M04.

Re: Help with Interior Glass Spots- Stubborn! *UPDATE 6/7*

Good morning everyone! Today I used the ScratchX 2.0 to remove the stains I described in this forum.

I was simply amazed that it worked. I forgot all about the pics, as I was working in the sun and it was getting quite hot. I was more concerned about getting rid of these stains.

Thanks Nick and all others for your advice. I have stains elsewhere on my glass, but it's just too darn hot to try the rest.
