SwirlX is an abrasive polish. It needs to be applied with some measure of pressure and rubbed into the paint surface so that it can accomplish its purpose--i.e., remove paint. You want to remove paint in order to level the paint surface. This is how swirls and scratches are removed. See these articles:

The techniques of abrasive polishing, therefore, are different from the techniques of waxing. When we apply a wax or sealant, we simply want to cover the paint surface with the protective substance; but when we apply an abrasive polish, we want to actually change and smooth the paint surface.

    Does that make sense?

    Cheers,
    Al

I would just note that it is often easy to get correction with polishes but you may not get the gloss ramped up enough depending on your finishing polish technique.
