  • Need help getting out dog scratches...

I have a black BMW with the typical swirl marks. However, it also has a few areas where my dog has scratched the paint with his claws (see pics).

I'm hoping I can remove the swirls and dog claw scratches. Here is what I have to work with:

    • Flex XC 3401
    • Meguiar's Clay
    • Quick Detailer
    • 4: Heavy-Cut Cleaner
    • 1: Medium-Cut Cleaner
    • 2: Fine-Cut Cleaner
    • 9: Swirl Remove 2.0
    • 3: Machine Glaze
    • 7: Show Car Glaze
    • NXT Generation Tech Wax 2.0

    Here are my questions:

    1. I really feel like I need to be aggressive with the dog scratches. Is it okay to apply #4 and #1 with the Flex?
    2. I have always thought that I should "clean" using Heavy-Cut, then Medium-Cut, then Fine-Cut, then Swirl Remover 2.0. Is that overkill? Do I really need that many "cleaning" steps?
    3. I have two kinds of Glaze: #3 and #7. Should I apply them both in that order since #3 is Light Cut and #7 has no cutting ability? Or should I just pick one and go with it?
    4. As the final step, should I apply NXT by hand or with the Flex?
    5. I borrowed the Flex from a friend. It has four pads: Yellow, Blue, White, and Black. How do I know which are heavy, medium, light cut, etc?
    6. What are the chances I can remove the dog scratches with this recipe?
    7. Any changes you'd recommend? I really have no idea what I'm doing here.

You can definitely improve and maybe even remove most or all of the scratches but you really need to upgrade to some new technology as far as your products go. The #1 and #4 are for rotary buffer use only and it could be the same for the #2 you have, read the back label and it will tell you.

We have a brand new abrasive technology that will be much better and safer to use on your precious, thin clear paint covering your BMW.

Pick up a bottle of either,

    M105 and M205

    or

    Ultimate Compound and SwirlX

Either of the above two combinations can be used with your Flex or by hand to remove the dog scratches and restore a swirl free finish.

Here's some links to more information on these products, I'm going to be offline most of the day but I'm confident our other forum members will chime in and help out.
