  • Ultimate Quick Wax & Dust ??????

Can I use the UQW on light dust like I could with UQD or does it lack the lubricating property's for this type use.

No, UQW does not have the lubricating properties.

That is what I suspected so the next question is why use it.

After using the QD either leave it at that or if it needs protection use NXT it would only be a little more work and provide more protection.

I never could see using the old NXT spray wax for the same reason.

Well, I use UQW after washing.

I am not one that dusts everyday, so it works well for me.

Think of it this way, generally speaking,

Mist & Wipe quick detailers are formulated to help you get something off the paint.

Spray-on waxes are formulated to leave something on the paint.

Of course most quality quick detailers also leave your paint looking clear and glossy so 'yes' they do leave something behind, the point of the above was a generalization for the purpose of explaining the role of the two different categories of products.

Only use a spray-on waxes after first washing and drying your car or wiping the car clean and free from any loose dust or other surface contaminants.

I know this is the simple answer but... I like to use it because it makes the paint look good.... it's fast on, fast off and maintains a clear, glossy finish on paint already in great condition, (which is what it's for). UQD does this also but I think UQW does it just tick better. At least that's what I see on my Jimmy's paint. (It's a basecoat/clear coat finish)

In the end it's personal preference, pretty hard to beat the results from UQD also...

Well since I apply the NXT 2.0 every 2 weeks I see no need for it.
I guess if you were trying to extend the LSP the UQW would make sense but I can apply a coat of NXT nearly as fast so I think I will just stick with what I have been doing.
Thanks for the replies about the UQW.

Well it's just user preferences. For me personally I like waxing activity once a month with G220. So I don't use quik wax, since I have a DA to do waxing in a fast way, though Quik wax is a very fast thing to do. I use UQD also once a week to enhance the color and add the hydrophobic effect..
