  • Cleaning MF towels and foam/MF pads

I have heard to wash MF towels in water with vinegar. Can I throw the pads into the vinegar also or will this mess them up? I air dry everything afterwards. Will washing the towels and pads just in water be enough to get polish/wax off of them?

The process I use is warm wash/cold rinse gentle cycle. Use a non-scented detergent and NO fabric softeners. I add 4 oz of white vinegar during the rinse cycle. Then I run a 2nd rinse cycle to completely wash out the vinegar. The method works for pads too, but I try to wash my pads and applicators separately from my MF towels. Keep in mind too that many darker MF towels (blue, dark gray), when new, tend to bleed colors so you may want to wash these separately from lighter (yellow, white) MF towels and/or pads and applicators for at least the first few washes.

You can tumble dry MF towels on low heat (NO static cling sheets or any other similar product). I like to air dry mine. Same for pads and foam applicators.
