  • 1st Use-Waxing with the DA polisher

Is there any issues with just waxing may car with the DA Polisher I want to get a feel for it before i attempt any swirl romoval.
    I recieved the:
    SoftBuff 2.0 Cutting Pad - (6.5”)
    SoftBuff 2.0 Finishing Pad - (6.5”)
    SoftBuff 2.0 Polishing Pad - (6.5”)

I will be using the NXT 2 wax If all goes well this time I will be removing some small swirl marke next time.

Also wondering, Will i remove any swirls if i use the Polishing pad or should i just use the foam finishing pad? and keep the other 2 pads for swirlx or a swirl removal product.

    Thanks for any advise.

If you are just waxing, you wont get many swirls removed. Maybe covered up.

When you do your swirl removal, with SwirlX, #80, etc, you will want to use the polishing pad. You might a couple extra polishing pads, just in case.

Have you seen the training video on youtube for using Meguiars with a DA?

I found this (which is pretty basic) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=waRcM...eature=related

      and this (the main one)

Ok So will I get more swirls covered up with the finishing pad or the polishing pad?

        Thanks

What are you working on? If this is a new car, then applying NXT2.0 is a good way to get a feel for the machine. It does a great job of applying the wax in a THIN coat which is key. You want to use a finishing pad. If this is older paint, then at least clay first.

Use the finishing pad for your LSP (last step product) (wax). The reason being is that it has almost no cut to it, and the wax only hides, doesn't have cut to remove swirls, so the finishing just allows the wax to go on without harming the integrity of the wax and its durability.

I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.

            I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.
            Remove swirls my friends.

It's a 2009 Black Challenger R/T Has some slight spider webbing and some swirl Marks.

OK then, on with the NXT2!

              Thanks all

For any Meguiar's finishing wax, apply a thin coating, allow it to fully dry before removing.

Use the 3.0 to 4.0 speed setting, don't turn the polisher on when the pad is not against the paint.

Yep, I believe I have read everything at this point lol
Actually just going throught the motions with the wax prior to the Swirl remover another weekend.

i will use the same swirl removing pattern for the wax but not as many passes and over a larger area, Unless I hear different :-)

                  Thanks!

Have you seen "Vanishing Point"? The Challenger is my favorite Dodge car. And you picked Black!!!!!! Someone has a signature somewhere that states..."Black is not a color, it's a full-time job"
