  • Hyper Dressing

    Hey guys,

I just recently got another order from ADS and in it I had also ordered some Hyper Dressing, couldnt pass it up after all the awesome reviews on it. So I thought I would ask what all does everyone use this on? What dilution is most popular? And last, what have you found to be the best application method? Thanks in advance

P.S. Mods I felt a little lazy today so if this has already been asked feel free to delete

    Re: Hyper Dressing

One of the other MOL members gave me a sample of Hyper Dressing, but I wasn't impressed with it. For interiors I switched to M40. For the exterior I have a few products, and when those are used up I'll use All Season Dressing.

        Re: Hyper Dressing

I bought Hyper dressing but to be honest that is my least used product. I rarely use it. The only thing Ive used it for is the fender well. You can get the exact same finish with m40 as you can get using Hyper Dressing.

Perfectly okay to start a new thread on a popular product, because this has come up often there are a lot of threads on the topic, here's a few,

          Hyperdressing uses
          Hyperdressing - Great for....?

I used it on the vinyl top of my 1974 260Z and thought it worked great and looked great. Actually the tires in this shot also have HD on them... it gives tires a nice dark matte finish.

            Re: Hyper Dressing

Just to note, M40 is a cleaner/conditioner, Hyper-Dressing doesn't offer much cleaning ability and as such should be used on surfaces that have been pre-cleaned or are in new or like new condition.

Water-based so it will wash off our tires fairly easy with soap and water and this is nice because then you can re-dress the tires.

              Re: Hyper Dressing

Thanks guys I also was debating between hyperdressing and ASD but went to the hyper dressing instead

I figure I would use it for engine details, trim, wheel wells, and tires. Mike, the 260z looks great from the pic and thanks for those links! Hopefully if I can get a bit of shade here soon I can wash my car and post my thoughts of the product a little later tonight! Id post a side by side of M40 and HD on my dash but since it is fairly clean im not sure how much difference you could see

              Anyone else have any suggestions?

3:1 or 4:1 depending how much of shine you like, tires, wheel wells and engines. I have a small bottle I use it on engines. For tires I like ASD or FK 350 and wheel wells I like ASD

                  Re: Hyper Dressing

I like 1:1 and 3:1. Which i use depends on preference. But i only use it for tires, wheelwells and under the hood.
For tires i spray it on a tire applicator and apply liberally. I'll let it dry for at least 15 minutes, but the longer the better. Then i'll wipe it down with one of my grunge MFs. That seems to give me a completely even shine all the way around the tire while also picking up whatevers left in the crevices. No one likes sling.

                    Re: Hyper Dressing

I like Hyper Dressing for interior stuff..ASD is a but too 'thick' for my tastes for interiors. ASD is great for tires and exterior trim.

                        Re: Hyper Dressing

Very pleased with HD 4:1. Makes the engine bay's black plastic boxes, covers, and rubber tubing look excellent (natural sheen) after I've cleaned it all with APC 4:1 --> (Mist H20, Mist APC, Scrub well, Mist clean w/ H20, mist HD, Distribute w/ MF.) I love the stuff. It'll go a long way; and is more economical than buying spray bottles of different sprays.

I also like it in my interior @ 4:1 (after cleaning interior w/ APC 10:1). There isn't any UV protection in it, but I'm happy w/ the reasonably-natural-looking sheen.

And on the tires (after having cleaned them w/ 4:1 APC & brushing or Westley's Bleche Wite & brushing), I love the 4:1 HD. Great natural-looking sheen. Not matte, but it's just right.

Overall, I think I accomplished what I was after, which is a bulk dilutable liquid that I can use on my interiors, exterior trim, tires, and engine bay. For the tires, I use a curved foam tire app brush and spray onto brush and wipe brush onto tire.

Plus, with dilution rates ranging from 1:1 - 4:1 (adjustable sheen), you can't beat that. So far so good . Oh, and I think that its water-based makeup makes it safer for a lot of applications, and much less greasy, too.

I love my HD! I use it at 3:1 for tires, trim, wheel wells, and engine bays.

I have had several people comment in forums how they like the look of it on the tires.

The way you confidently just move forward with the sanding, the buffing and bringing out the final brilliance is just too much! Amazing Rasky! Do you ever have like, a couple... or several cars lined up, ready to go into treatment, much to the chagrine, dismay and disillusionment of your unemployed (ain't worked in over a year) neighbors?!...LOL. And I'll say it again...Detailing God, Mirror Finish!

I actually would never use it for interiors though. To me it's an exterior dressing and I would much rather use UQID or M40 for interiors.

Thanks, everyone, and Rasky I actually do agree with your interior comment. I dont think I will ever use it on the interior (I love my M40 and QID for that) unless I get curious one day Ill have to test out these dilution ratios to find what I like tomorrow. Sun would not give me a break today and I dont have a cover

LOVE HD, been using 3:1 for wells and tires. Doesn't "build up" and so economical that I don't mind reapplying every week.
