  • Detailing Questions

I have a carbon black m3... it's metallic - black with midnight blue

the paint is in real great shape - virtually no scratches - just lots of swirl marks from the previous owner taking the car to the car wash... it just seems dull... doesn't have that wet, deep look

i was going to detail the whole thing this weekend... by hand... ready to put time and money into it... doesn't really matter how much time or how much money... just want it to look the best it can

can someone here give me a total step by step process? thanks!

    Re: Detailing Questions

Are you working by hand? Or machine and if a machine, what kind?

Have you ever rubbed out a modern clear coat finish before?

      Re: Detailing Questions

I have before. Yes. With zaino and eh i wasnt really happy. I was thinking clay, scratchx, deep crystal polish, new tech wax. Just have swirls and paint is dull. Everything will be by hand. The polish is probably the most important to me.

          Wash, clay, paint correction, LSP
Your choice of soap, Meguiars Smooth clay kit at Walamrt is a great Value, if working by hand Scratch X, then NXT 2.0
I would suggest looking into a PC or G110. Lots of reading on here and other forums will give you more info a lot more in depth. Good luck with a great car
