  • SMA vs Diminishing Abrasives

    Question:

The new versions in the consumer line such as SwirlX, ScratchX 2.0, Ultimate compound, etc have the Super Micro Abrasive technology?...

and the professional line Mirror Glaze products such as M80, M82, M83 have the traditional diminishing abrasives?

Yes. As far as cleaners go:

SMAT = SwirlX, ScratchX, UC, #105, #205, and Paint Reconditioning Cream

DAT = Most of the rest.

There are a few other products that use other abrasives, like #4. Not sure what SOLO uses either.

      You're dead-on right!

What's the difference between Meguiar's Super Micro Abrasive technology and Meguiar's Diminishing Abrasive technology?

Did I miss any in the automotive lines?

I was confused with Meguiar's terms too when i first saw they said their products were non-abrasive, even though they are.

Meguiar's terms when they say "non-abrasive" it means it wont cause further damage to the paint.
