  • Pollen + Rain = Etching?

I have noticed, or it seems, that anytime my car is covered in pollen and we get any rain, it seems to etch the paint. Washing will remove most but I am still left with some deeper etch marks and have to remove with some cleaners.

Acid rain does not seem to be the culprit as it only happens if the car is covered in pollen which seems to be all the time this spring... I just detailed my car a few weeks ago and it seems I will have to touch up the hood after I wash it, oh well

I just wanted to rant! Pollen is lame.

I have never had it before, but I think I am getting a little of that this year as well.

I was able to wash the car today right after the rains stopped... Etching was there but was removable with swirl X. Interesting enough, I found what seemed to be "artistic" etching/hazing/scratches in the hood, like maybe a bird or something had walked across, very interesting. I got maybe 95% of it out with swirl X yet again before I topped the hood with M21. I feel much better! I just hope it stays! I don't mind dirt, but etching just drives me insane!
