If you are trying to clean up the wheels as best as possible, I would go with the cleaner/wax at least, if not a dedicated cleaning product then Nxt.

What kind of wax were you planning on using on the windows? You can't use just any wax on them, or you'll have really bad smearing. Meguiar's doesn't recommend using any of their waxes on glass, and I probably would advise against it. Aside from Rain-X, the only waxes I have used on glass are Tip Top Radiance Polymer Sealant and Ardex Viper Wax. The Radiance is made by Southeast Supply, which is the local distributor for Auto Magic. The Viper Wax (one of the few things I have ever liked from Ardex) I have to buy from an Ardex distributor. Both work great (with no smearing) and last several months. The Rain-X is great too, but just doesn't seem to last more than 3-4 weeks. You're supposed to be able to use M135 on glass too to enhance beading. I suppose that operates on the same principle as Rain-X, so it probably wouldn't last real long. But you could always try it and see if it works for you. I'm just throwing some ideas and guesses out there. Hope I've helped in some small way!

I've used NXT wax on my windows before and haven't had a problem.

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

I would be careful with what you use on clearcoated aluminum as far as initial liquid cleaners (i.e. wheel brightener versus all wheel cleaner). For the final cleaning portion, although NXT 2.0 does contain mild chemical cleaners, something like the A12 cleaner wax or D151 will have more potent cleaning action. NXT is a sealant versus a wax and will have better longevity so I'd use that for final protection.

Windows and headlights can receive any cleaner wax without trouble although remember that some people have reported hazing or fogging under certain conditions after applying wax to windshields. Aquapel is still one of the best window treatments I have found and can be purchased at Costco, Autogeek, etc. but a thin wax coating will work just fine.

Since you're starting out and probably want to pick up something locally a good tip is to grab a one of Meguiar's Smooth Surface Clay Kits. It's under $20 anywhere and brings clay which you should use on the paint, glass and maybe rims (to remove embedded brake dust contamination depending on how sensitive the finish is), Quik Detailer for use on paint/headlights/rims/etc, and a sample bottle of the Meguiar's Cleaner Wax with more than enough product to do your headlights/windows/rims.

                I haven't waxed window since the 80's
Ever since Rain-X came out. I swear by it.
I've used 135 on rims and it allows the break dust to wipe rite off.
Also 135 leaves the rim clean and shinny
Why do you want to wax your rims and windshield?

I use my old batch of #21 on the rims. I know it does not last that long on the rims. As part of my qd routine, I use quik wheel detailer to keep the rims looking good.

I waxed my windows once - cannot remember what was used - but what a mess when the wipers were used. Smearing, wiper chatter, etc. Rain-X was worse. Now I use a windshield stripper with every wash, and it is great. In my opinion, beading is fine for paint, but not for the windshield. The product I use says if the water on your windshield is beading, you have a dirty windshield.
