  • Re: Removing plastic emblums

I used the fishing line technique which worked great. Now I have three small beads of glue that is hard as a rock attached to the paint. How should I proceed. This is a Suzuki Forenza. (now you see why I am removing he plastic Forenza plates

There are three things I use for adhesive. Heat, plastic razor blade and 3M adhesive remover. If the glue is thin the adhesive remover should be able to break it down. If it's thick I would try a hair dryer and plastic razor blade. Be careful the plastic will mar your paint. Just be gentle and take your time.

Edit: Almost forgot... Some people use WD40, maybe try that first if you already have some.

3M also makes a tool for your cordless drill called the eraser wheel that works very well.

Persoanlly I've used a Hair dryer and a plastic scraper (be sure it's not so sharpe as this can mark the paint).

First time I did it I was so crazy about not marking my car I used my finger nail - god that hurt! lol

Try WD-40, I have used it and it will not mess up your paint! Of course wash and wax after!
