  • Anyone use Soft Touch Microfiber Drying Cloth

I was wondering if any of you use the soft touch microfiber drying cloth out there. I talked to a customer service guy at Meguiar's about 6 months ago and he suggested to use the Water magnet then follow it with the soft touch. Well I just ordered 3 water magnets and 3 soft touch's. I used the water magnet on my truck and it worked great and there wasn't any residual water to wipe with the soft touch until the water magnet became very wet.

I was not impressed with the soft touch as it did not seem to absorb very well on the residual water at the end, or even absorb very well on areas not touched by the water magnet. Am I missing something here or what's the point of this towel (I'm also a bit afraid to use it since it doesn't have much nap)

I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.

    I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.

I was debating purchasing the Soft Touch as well, and I had asked this question once already. For those that replied, they gave the Soft Touch a thumbs up.

Since I never used it, I'm interested as well to see the replies you get on this thread.

I plan to purchase a drying cloth and it's between this and the water magnet, so I'd like to see the results as well.

I blow dry my car with a leaf blower so there's little water left, I thought of just using the Soft Touch drying cloth on the remaining water spots....

I do the exact opposite- 1 soft touch and 1 waffle weave dried an entire airplane for me and got it 100% spot-free and dry. Use the Sort Touch first since it wrings out extremely easily, and then follow that with the waffle weave.

I did that and the waffle weave was practically totally dry after doing an entire airplane. When I did the airplane several months ago without the soft touch it took (IIRC) 4 waffle weave towels.

OK Mark, so as I understand it, the Soft Touch is for initial drying, not for "touching up?"

Ohhhhhh, I may have to try it in the opposite order like you suggested mark. So the soft touch is fine to wring out etc?

I think the soft touch may work a bit better after the first wash, it feels a little bit different now. I remember Mike Stoops told me at a TNOG that when he used a new waffle weave it didn't work as well as the first time before it was washed as compared to the second time when it was washed. The same may hold true for the soft touch.

            Thanks for the advice Mark!
