  • Rim Care - OZ Racing Superleggera

    Hi,

I have OZ Racing Superleggera rims on my car. I have tried Hot Rims All Wheel Cleaner in the past and currently use Wheel Brightener with reasonable results.

Does anyone have any recommendations on products and techniques for the care of the Superleggera rims? I am not sure what material they are made of but this link may provide insight for other forum members http://www.ozracing.co.uk/superleggera_race_silver.htm

    Thanks for any advice offered.

I have the same wheels except they are flat black. Mine dont really require any sort of waxing or sealer cause they are flat and really easy to maintain. I just use a boars hair brush with regular soap and water. If you do it frequently thats all you will need. Also depends on what kind of pads you are running, some dust like crazy while others dont. I would say determine weather or not they have a clearcoat or not first. If they do then clean em up and seal them so it will be easy to clean always. That pic looks like they are a machined finish so im not sure if you can seal or wax those. Im sure the experts will chime in here soon. I hope my advice is ok.

You need to determine what finish you have on your particular set of OZ wheels. All the ones that I am familiar with are painted except for the stainless steel lip. The painted portion should be treated just like your car's paint. Clean it, polish it, seal it and wax it. Then use a metal polish on just the stainless lip if it starts to lose it's shine. Keep the metal polish off the painter portion of the wheel.
