Try mixing up some Dawn dish soap in a bucket and let the towels soak over night. The Dawn seems to do a good job breaking down wax and grease.

You might be stuck with stains.

The vinegar is moreto soften them up.

I don't have any Dawn. So I might soak them overnight In OxyClean in hot water.

My concern Is that the stains have hindered some of there cleaning power?

As long as the stains arent "hard", like causing the fibers to be stiff, clumped, etc, you should be ok.

I agree with Murr, I have stained towels as well and I check them for hard areas. I typically use my Costco bulk towels for nasty work and my Supreme Shines for paint only detail but they get dirty time to time.....

I picked up some Dawn today so I'm going to soak my micro fibers while I'm out and see how they look tomorrow!

i use the same stuff for cleaning clothes(without softners,of course).Leave in bucket of warm water 'till next day(even a couple of hours works fine for me.rinse well after to get all the soap out.if you live in an area with hard water, you could leave them steeping in a bucket of deminerelized water for a while, after you have rinsed them.works fine for me.

                      Re: Washing micro fiber towel's.

Perhaps I'm overly anal about my MF towels but I would never wash the towels that I use for the paint with towels loaded with brake dust.

I never use a powder soap to wash MF towels I prefer liquid Tide.
Dawn dish soap is best for soaking because of it's ability to cut wax and grease.

If towel are soiled pre-soak then do a double wash if needed to get them clean then a double rinse.
Use vinegar on final rise. Dry on low heat until barley damp and finish drying on air fluff this will leave them very soft and static free.

Front load washer, Set on "Bright Whites", Hot water, high spin and Pre-Wash. Put generous portion of Oxiclean in the load with the towels. Add additional detergent in the reservoir. Your Front Load washer should have a self clean function, USE IT AFTER, or you wife, mom, whoever will beat you!

I will soak it with warm water together with detergent.
After soak in warm water for about 15mins, I would give it a quick hand wash/rub to loosen the stains on the MF.

Tide and Microfiber Restore detergent. Great combo.
                            Dry on low temp setting.
Some stains will never come out. As long as the stained area pliable and not greasy, the towel is still effective. I usually have destinated towels for certain task. 1 for wheels and door jams. 1 for paint.

Do you do this with any "fluffy" MF towels? The static thing seems to be a problem for me and I can't seem to correct it. I'm wondering if I'm using the wrong towel for the application or if the static is pulling loose fibers from the towel onto the surface. By "fluffy" I mean the towels that are thick like bathroom towels.
