detail steps for 2010 camaro with black paint

I have had the car for 2 weeks and im ready to make a show car out of her, car has never seen the rain. by looking at your products and reading the fourms these are the steps i've put together: and i need some advice

wax nxt 2.0

I'm very new to detailing to a high standard, and i really want great results. so here are my questions. should i polish?, if so when? and would the deep crystal polish be sufficient or do you guys suggest something else?

secondly, how long is necessary to wait between applications of product like between a coat of swirlx and polish or swirlx and wax. or all 3

and lastly, i might have access to a buffer and a dual orbiting waxer, would it be better to use the machines instead of by hand and which machines are safe to use with each product?

really want to make this car look fantastic and as show car like as possible, its a weekend car and garage kept. will gladly accept any and all advice. thanks alot love these fourms

First off let me say congrats on a very nice car!

1. Wash- use two buckets, one for soap, one for rinse water. Use a high quality sheepskin wash mit, or myself, I like to use a grout sponge from Lowe's found in the cleaning supply section, made by Proline, it has rounded edges, and is NOT bone shape.

2. Clay- the over the counter Meguiars clay is great, just make sure you are doing this after washing the car, and its dry (my preference). Have you ever used clay before?? if not, it is easy.

3. Swirlx- with it being brand new, check the condition of the paint in the sun..is it swirled up?? If ever so slightly swirled, I would get some Meguiars #7 show car glaze and use that for now instead of the swirlx, it will hide very minor imperfections. Wipe, and wipe off, do not allow to dry much at all or its a PITA to remove

4. Wax- all i have to say about that is apply it very thing, two coats, about 4 hours apart would be fine, you can do it sooner, but the longer you wait the better to me the results have been.

5. make sure you are using quality microfibers through all of this, or your hard work may be ruined.

With being new to detailing you should bring it to my house and drop it off I will do it for you and you can pick it up say 2015.

Great car Take your time you will be fine and r ember # 7 is lucky

i will try the & show car glaze those swirls are very slight, and is it ok to apply the glaze by hand or better with the buffer

by hand with #7 would be better, work small areas at a time, and remember, wipe on wipe off
