    Re: Why polish AND wax?

Polishing is more effective on single stage paints where the paint isn't covered by a clear coat and it "feeds" off of the nourishing oils easier.

Thanks, your two posts helped me a lot and I'd have to agree about somewhat ignoring their names. It almost seems to me that Megs has entirely too many products that are similar.

Just to be sure though. By cleaner, you're referring to fixing blemishes/minor issues? Polish = make shiney?

I'll be looking this up, but it also seems that the pads may make a difference? I had minor blemishes on the last two (which are my first two) cars and the M105 with the yellow Meg 2.0 pad did nothing to remove them. (If it is not that, it is my application of it)

      Anyway, thanks for the breakdown.
The differences can be subtle, and eventually they might be running out of names to use.

Yes, a cleaner would be used to remove dirt, and if strong enough, would remove swirls.

A Pure polish will add oils to nourish the paint, and fill in small imperfections. By keeping the paint healthy, and the imperfections filled in, the gloss and reflection of the paint will improve.

The yellow 2.0 pad is the polishing pad? If so, that would be the pad you want to use as much as possible. You might want to start a new thread, pics if possible, and can help you more on your car.

        Good show!

When I clayed our new Neon, it was filled with tons of junk, overspray from the factory etc! The top of the rear spoiler was covered in massive overspray that it almost felt like sandpaper to the touch.....

Why not use Gold Class wax? You get a polish and wax in one .
