  • Weekend detail, need some thoughts and advice.

    Hey everyone!

This weekend I'm gonna be rubbing out my mother-in-law's Subaru Forester (belated mothers day/helping with the kids room present) that's in pretty rough shape.
I'm sure there has been no wax of any kind put on the paint, wheels (factory) are horrid and it looks as if the brake dust/grime has started to eat into the metal. back bumper has alot of paint missing....the car is burgandy with grey bumpers. The hood has MANY deep scratches and some area appears to have been met with a scouring pad.

What I would like to know is what would be the best approach by hand would be.
I'm not looking into doing a full paint correction, I just want it to look a lot better then what it looks now.

My tools of the trade are as follows.
Clay Kit, UC (SwirlX/ScratchX on hand, I'm sensing that UC would probably be more effecient in this case), M07, and NXT 2.0, Hot Rims All Wheel Cleaner, GC Endurance High Gloss Tire gel, and PlastX, and GC Trim Detailer. Plus all appropriate pads and towels, and brushes.

Is there anything else I should need, I was thinking of grabbing some M26 yellow wax in place of the NXT 2.0, or have the NXT 2.0 as the LSP.
Thanks in advance for the help!

I would Clay, UC, if other products needed then use those, cleaner Wax and then NXT 2.0 or instead of that M26

      Thanks Carfire,
This car is gonna be a doozie! I'm sure I'll be good to go with what I have, I guess I'm trying to validate myself on going out and getting more stuff! I do need more applicators and towels.
Anyways I'll grab some pics, this one should be interesting!
