  • Product recomendation

I will be doing a full detail on my IS350 in the next couple of weeks. Any suggestions on what product to use on these wheels Work Rezax II? They are a three piece wheel. I also plan on using Mother's (come on Meguiar's..some new tools would be great) new cone tool.

They dont look too dirty on the outside, Car wash soap and a nice wheel brush should clean them up just fine.

If your looking for a delicate wheel cleaner then something like Multi Piece Wheel Wash would work.

This was a pic from last year when the wheels were new..Looking for something to polish/protect. Considering just using the polish/wax I use on the car

            What is the Mothers cone?

For washing, either soap and water would be fine, or the Multi-Piece / Aluminum Weel Wash would be nice and mild.

If they are bare metal, you can use one the of the metal polishes if you want, and then you can certainly use your regular wax on them.

            Paint polish wont do much.

Are they clear coated? I assume not since you are seeing some degradation of the finish. If they are UNcleared then use some M105 and follow with Hot Rims Mag and Aluminum polish. If they are not that bad then you could go right to the Mag and Aluminum polish.

If they ARE clear coated then go with M105 followed by cleaner wax. Again, if the condition is not that bad then going with D151 would be fine as well for a one step.

Also, how do you clean the wheels? What products do you use. If you use a wheel cleaner like Meg's WB then don't waste your time waxing as that will remove it. If you use your standard car wash solution then waxing them will help brake dust rinse right off.

I would try to clean with car soap and brushes first. Diluted APC will be the next step up. I use DG 501 on wheels, I like how well it cleans and the protection is great.
