Naw, there's no benefit, it just looks cool.

I would be interested to know this also. My standard garden nozzles seem to work fine.......

Generally the durability (the rubber housing) takes to being dropped better than most "gun" style plastic nozzles.

Also, and probably the bigger issue, is that the spray pattern can be adjusted easily and left at that pressure... no monkeying around with holding the trigger just right to get the desired spray pattern.

          Very well put Mark

I bought mine at Walmart a few years ago. I have the "nub" version that doesn't have a handle or the fireman's water flow handle. Mine just turns right to left for flow control, on/off positions. It has been *very* durable as I can be harsh with garden nozzles by dropping them often while washing a car. The rubber housing makes it durable. My parents love it too! So much that they use theirs for gardening.

I just like the fact I can hold it with my fingertips and get a great stream of water, no squeezing required.

Growing up in a house where my father was "Mr. Fix-It" he would often screw the garden hose nozzle onto the hose so tight it would be stuck there until the hose was replaced. Considering he would also buy the cheapest nozzles known to man, they would leak instantly and wouldn't spray more than 2 feet. I don't mind getting a little wet when washing a car, but getting drenched from a leaky nozzle annoyed me to no end.

Now that I'm older, somewhat wiser and have a few places of my own, I have a kink-free hose and a nicer nozzle that isn't a pain to work with. Plus, for $10 it's only marginally more expensive than a normal (plastic) nozzle.

I have seen them and read about them but never jumped on the bandwagon, but I guess it is time to make the leap and see what all the hype is about. It will mostly be for the durability of the thing, also so my g/f's son wont break it

Durability and convenience. I hate adjusting or holding that hand-lever thing. Much easier turning the fire hose thing.

Don't you fellows have a Wal-Mart. You can get a regular bronze/rubberized garden nozzle, either trigger grip, or manual head nozzle adjustment (same a the firehose) for a few bucks. Heck, mine must be ten years old, dropped off everything imaginable,
                  and still works great. Gimmicks.

Yep...but some people in the world do not enjoy Wal-Mart. I'm one of those people. I'd rather support Harbor Freight or some smaller store, even if it does cost me an extra dollar or two.

Good point Colonel. I try not to spend too much money at Walmart. They have put so many smaller businesses out of business including the Mom and Pop stores.

I will patronize the small business owner as much as possible. Besides, I get good customer service. In all the years I've shopped at Walmart, only recently for the first time did someone ask "can I help you with anything?"

                        Me three.

While I like their low prices on Meguiar's stuff I hate walking into my local Walmart since they seem to be restocking everytime I go. Pallets left and right, you can barely walk between aisles, guys roling merchandise without caring for you, etc. That is why I support my other big local retailer, Target when I can. I have never seen any of the things I mentioned above on their stores.

I have seen them at walmart. I get my oil and some megs stuff there. Normally like $5 cheaper than auto parts stores

I like the fireman's style nozzle a lot. They are a breeze to use. Use the lever and it is on and off. No twisting or turning, to get the water flow just right. Very durable also.

I was skeptical at first. But after one use, I was sold on them.
