  • Hi, newbie need assistance on new car.

Hi, im a begginer in this type of thing, anyway i just bought a Toyota land cruiser with solid white colour.
wonder how to keep it shinning and protected ?

I went to 1 of maguiars auto detailing centre the other day and saw that there are several package like car wax, car polish and also new car paint protection

should i take the new car paint protections >?
and what actually new car paints protections consist of ?

one more thing what will be the schedule for a year be?
-twice a week self washing using nxt shampoo
-once every 2 months waxing at the detailing centre
-twice a year polishing at the detailing centre ?

    are they enough?
and what product is recomended for me ?

i live in tropical country which only have 2 seasons, rainy and summer
so i dont need snow protection

please guide me here, thank you.

Re: Hi, newbie need assistance on new car.

We do not have Meguiar's detail centers here in the U.S., so i do not know what their various detail packages consist of or what they would be offering for "new car" protection.

The detailing schedule that you outlined seems very reasonable, though you probably could save money simply by waxing the car yourself. Given that you already wash your car on a regular basis, why not just wax the car yourself, too? It will only take an additional hour or so.

The important thing is to keep the paint protected. Waxing with NXT every two months sounds eminently reasonable. Also take a look at this article: Your Daily Driver: A Simple Wash & Wax Regimen.

Getting your car polished twice a year also sounds eminently reasonable, especially if your car is exposed to the elements every day.

        Congratulations on your new car.
