  • Wax-As-U-Dry over #16 or #26

Okay, I know this is a Meguiars forum, and I just started using your stuff last week and love it, but......

Do you think it's okay to use Eagle One's Wax-As-U-Dry over #26 or #16. It just seems to make it look fresh and makes it real easy to dry the car - leaves a smooth finish.
That which doesn't kill you, only makes you say "d@mn, that hurts"

      Hey,

To be very truthful, I know you would really LOVE the look of Meguiar's Last Touch QD over the #26 or #16. The resultant gloss and slickness is incredible!!!

From some of the feedback on this forum and on Autopia in the past, the optimum method of using Quik Wax is after you've washed and dried. Some have found the results after using it wet less than satisfactory.

That's just from the feedback. I know some have had no probs, and others experienced unpredictable results.

I'll probably catch it for saying this and no I'm not a traitor. Wax As You Dry works great over either of the two products previously mentioned. I love #16, 26 (though I've been using more #16 as of late) and NXT. I have tried the WAUD and many other products for that in between "full detail" touch up following a wash. I haven't found anything that works as well including those products mentioned previously in this thread. I love Final Detail and its new replacement Last Touch. These products are in my opinion hands down the best Quick Detail products made. I don't really consider WAUD in the same category. I use it only as an immediate post wash product and the QD's in between washes. I wouldn't use the WAUD as a QD by the definition I've stated above even though Eagle One claims you can. Sorry guys, I'm a die hard Meguiar's fan but I don't believe that any one manufacturer makes the best product in every line. The other guys made a very good product this time.

Like Tim, I'm a HUGE advocate for utilizing a QD product after washing and drying my vehicles and, fortunate for us, Meguiar's has SEVERAL QD products that are excellent.

Last Touch, Final Inspection, and Quick Detailer all reside within my arsenal. I personally find that utilizing these products regularly for the purposes for which they are intended, (ie: removing slight smudges, dust, and finger prints etc...) that they're hard to beat for restoring that 'just waxed' look; even compared to WAUD.
