Purchased a Meguiars DA Polisher last yr.(G110) Would like to purchase the new 2.0 pads, is there a new backing plate that I need to get or can I use the one that originally came with the DA? Also, how any pads would you consider to order. Have a 03 Camry and 07 Tacoma in good paint condition. Thanks

Re: New 2.0 pad ?
you can use the original one. the only difference in my experience is that the new one is larger and has softer edges. Maybe there are some technical differences that I am unaware of but i just recently got the new backing plate and had been using the old backing plate with the new pads for quite some time."The shinier your car, the brighter your day"

Re: New 2.0 pad ?
You can use the stock backing plate that came with your G110 with the new 2.0 pads, you'll just have an extra 1/2 inch of foam protruding from the edge of the BP. Not necessarily a bad thing having a little extra cushion for rounded edges or corners.
The new BP (W68DA) has a flexible outer rim and a 5.75" diameter that provides better pad support for the 2.0 Soft Buffs while maintaining contouring ability. Not a bad addition to your DA arsenal.

Re: New 2.0 pad ?
You can use the old backing plate with the new pads. I learned this past weekend, that with the new BP, more of the pad stays in contact w/the area being worked, so in reality you get the job done faster. Just my 2 cents.
