Optimum no rinse or DP rinseless wash and gloss or

I would have to agree with him ^^

I at times though do not know when the car is too dirty for a simple QD soak and wipe down. when you wipe your panels down for a QD, how dark is your towel? If wiping the lower panels, and the towel comes off with a decent dark look, was that too dirty to do a Qd wipe? I really soak the panel down, and my QD is ONR.

I do not think that option would work to well if you are trying to clean a light amount of dirt off. The suds, or solution helps carry away dirt, water does not have that ability.

yes, a cap full or two in 4 gallons once a week will do great. If you are on the fence about a wash mit or whatever, I have found good results using a grout sponge from Lowes, I think it made by a company called Proline, in the section with the cleaning supplies, it is yellow, usually a rectangle in shape or dogbone. I'm sure you know to wash your wheels with a differnt sponge, and usually a differnt bucket too.

I use either a sheepskin wash mitt form walmart, believe is Eurow or something for like $6, or a mf wash mitt from pak shak .

I also use the proline grout sponge from lowes.

Megs gold glass shampoo once a week is a a great idea

Quick detailing is for light dust. If you are going to do this, then you want to do it on a daily basis to prevent dust build-up. If the dust builds up too much, then quick detailing becomes inappropriate and you need to wash your car. As you know, Meguiar's has several quick detailing products.

I have not figured out how to quick detail my car without risking swirling the paint (my car's paint is particularly soft), so I prefer to wash my car regularly. I am currently using Gold Class Shampoo and Optimum No Rinse, depending on the kind of car wash I want to do. When doing a regular wash, I use the two bucket method with a grit guard, and I rinse my wash mitt frequently.
Swirls hide in the black molecular depths, only waiting for the right time to emerge and destroy your sanity.

just to help the new guy out, how many MF's are you using per QD?? I used the big Vroom drying towel yesterday, folding up into many different ways, this did about half the car, a Ford Fusion. I followed the Vroom towel with SS towels, and finished the car with 3 more SS towels.

On my Golf, I unded up uding just 4 SS in total.

The amount of towels used for a quick detail depends really on the technique. I can QD my whole truck with one SS towel. But i dust the paint off before wiping it down with a MF and spray. With the majority of dust off the paint i can wipe it with minimal dirt transfer to my MF. Less dust also means less spray is needed.

Less dust and less spray means my MF stays cleaner and less saturated with product. It took me about a year to get my technique down.

And I think that is the key, experimenting and getting a good technique to not have any swirls or whatnot when washing/drying and quick detailing, or as few as possible.

i tend to use more than 1 mf towel when doing a qd. I guess my technique isnt down solidly to just use one towel. Once I make a couple of passes with the towel folded into quarters, I move to a clean section. After several panels I will just start freash with a new towel.

Kind of like when I do an onr wash. Scottwax can get by with using 2-4 towels cause he is really experienced at it.

I use one mf 16X16 towel as the initial wipe, another to dry the rest off. After about two panels, the towel I was using for the second wipe is now my primary wipe towel, and a new towel is the 2nd wipe towel etc...

Yeah, i should clarify as well. I use one SS to QD my PAINT ONLY. I use another mf (16"x16" from ADS) to do the glass, chrome and jambs. So really i use two MF's.

Thanks for the compliment ES300. But i'll tell you what, you can build a vehicle to be as reliable, if not more, as a newer vehicle. Can't say i'm a fan of all the wiring and electronics that comes with newer vehicles either.
