  • house paint on car help

car - 04 Toyota Highlander White

The driver apparently hit a bucket of red paint and it dried for the past couple weeks, I tried meguiars professional line mild clay bar, that didnt work, i tried acetone, brake fluid, those didn't work either. I tried gasoline and it worked a little bit as in the color of the red paint was getting onto the towel but that was it. Any tips? suggestions. I been looking around for different type of house paints and how to remove them from car but couldnt find much that worked. I'm going to buff the car out afterwards but need to take the red paint off, all help is greatly appreciated as I am on a deadline to finish the car

I've had success with clay bar. But I had to apply A LOT of pressure and it still took a while.

There are some pretty good tips in the above link, a few things to try...

Also, the basics are Lacquer Thinner or Mineral Spirits, always test in an inconspicuous area first. You can swing by a Lowe's, Home Depot or True Value Hardware store and go to the paint department and tell them what happened and see what they recommend? They are somewhat trained and familiar with working with house paints.

There's some new products on the market for removing paint by this company,

I have #4 for removing Graffiti but have not tried it yet.

Here's one for Latex Paint. If other attempts don't work you might look into this company.

thx for all the help, unfortunately none of the chemicals n products i have searched for works. I did figure it out by razor blading the paint very carefully. Then I took out the rotary and now it looks brand new. My real problem is the paint on the tires and alloy wheels...its going to be really hard=[...any suggestions on those parts?
