  • My options for this damage

    Hi everyone,

Can anyone diagnose this paint damage for me?

I think it's clear coat failure...

My paint is in need of serious help...

    Ideas?

Yeah that's CC failure. Not much you can do for it short of a repaint.

Definitely looks like it... try polishing with something like swirl X or M205 just to see how it looks but there's not much you can do about cc failure.

Why can't you hit CC failure with like M105?

In theory if you sand it away enough then polish it up, shouldn't it be ok?

Those pictures show missing clear coat, and an edge where it is so thin it is starting to peel away. M105 would REMOVE some of the dead clear, and the color coat underneath...but it would do nothing to treat the inherent problem: missing clear coat.

You might be able to hide it temporarily, though.

Well the cc will keep peeling since there's a hole in it basically... yes you can sand away and polish to get rid of the white for the most part, but soon you'll be where you started
